Guest Speaker: Dr. A. Holly Jones, Missouri State University
Program: Dr. Jones will present the results of the MSU Archaeological Field School research at two historic sites in SW Missouri. The McKenzie-Townsend site at Nathanael Greene Park is one of the earliest homesteads in Springfield, dating from the early-to-middle nineteenth century. At Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, investigations focused on Moody's blacksmith shop, which is associated with the August 10, 1861 Civil War Battle.

Missouri State University's annual Student Anthropology Conference (STAC) will take place April 30-May 1, 2009, hours and rooms to be announced. Students will be grouped in panels to present their original research in all fields of anthropology and related disciplines. All students, faculty, and the general public are invited to attend.
