The internship should include at least 200 hours of work experience with an approved professional organization. The purpose of the internship is to gain work experience in applied anthropology, to learn about the day to day operation of a firm or organization, and to develop practice skills on the job.
Each student will keep a daily log of their activities and submit a written report to the faculty sponsor by the end of their internship. The job supervisor should provide a written evaluation of the student's performance. The student will give an oral presentation on their internship to an audience of peers and faculty.
Before beginning the internship, a Graduate Internship Agreement must be completed, approved, and deposited with the graduate director.
The student is expected to take an active role in locating and securing an appropriate placement, working in consultation with his or her faculty adviser and the graduate director.
