Anthropology 

Sequence of Courses

The M.S. in Applied Anthropology is intended to be completed in five continuous semesters, beginning in fall, going full-time, and including one summer.  Courses should normally be taken according to the following schedule.

First Fall

ANT 700  Applying Anthropology. 3 hours.
ANT 710  Cultural Resource Management. 3 hours.
600-level elective. 3 hours.

First Spring

ANT 611  Ethnographic Field Methods.  3 hours. OR
ANT 650  Advanced Methods in Archaeology. 3 hours.
ANT 720  Quantitative Methods in Anthropology. 3 hours.
600-level elective. 3 hours

First Summer

ANT 790  Internship in Anthropology.  3 hours.

Second Fall

ANT 725  Computer Applications in Anthropology. 3 hours.
ANT 770  Research Design and Writing in Anthropology. 3 hours.
600-level elective. 3 hours.

Second Spring

ANT 797  Practicum in Applied Anthropology.  6 hours.  OR
ANT 799  Thesis. 6 hours.
