Admission to this program is competitive. Only a small number of students can be accommodated every year. All application materials should be received by the department as soon as possible to receive early consideration. Applications will be considered as long as space remains.
There are two steps in the admission process: admission to the Graduate College and admission to the Anthropology Masters Program.

Or print out, complete, and mail the pdf file at http://graduate.missouristate.edu/admissions.htm
Pay a non-refundable application fee of $35.
Submit two official copies of transcripts showing course work for the Bachelor’s degree. Missouri State University transcripts do not need to be sent.
The admission requirements for the Graduate College can be found at http://graduate.missouristate.edu/requirements.htm
Please note that the GRE is necessary only if you do not meet the GPA requirements.
Within weeks you should receive a response from the Graduate College indicating whether or not you have met the admission requirements of the College. The Graduate College will then send your application file to the Anthropology Program for further consideration.
Admission to the Masters Program
Upon receipt of your application from the Graduate College, the Anthropology Program will determine if you meet the GPA or GRE requirements of our program and notify you accordingly. Assuming you meet our requirements, we will ask for further information, including:

• A resume of not more than two pages, highlighting any experience relevant to this masters program.
• A statement of purpose of 300-500 words on qualifications and reasons for pursuing this degree.
• At least one sample of writing (e.g., a term paper).
The deadline for first consideration is March 1. However, we will continue to accept applications after that dat on a case-by-case basis.
